How to Choose Your Plus-Size Pajama Size

Choosing a pajama size starts with the measurements for the specific set you want. A familiar label such as 2XL is a useful starting point, but it does not tell you the bust room, waistband fit or leg length. For a two-piece set, check the top and bottoms together before making your choice.

1. Record your body measurements

Use a flexible tape and write down the unit beside every measurement. Keep the tape level around your body without pulling it tight.

  • Bust: measure around the fullest part of your bust and across your back.
  • Waist: measure around your natural waist. If a product diagram specifies a different waistband position, follow that diagram for the comparison.
  • Hips: measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.

Take each measurement again to check consistency. Keep centimeters and inches separate; one inch equals 2.54 centimeters. A measurement taken over bulky clothing can make the comparison less useful.

2. Check what the size chart actually measures

Body measurements and garment measurements are different. A body chart describes the person a size is intended to fit. A garment chart describes the clothing itself, which can include extra room for movement and the intended shape.

Read the chart headings and any measuring diagram before matching numbers. A flat width is also different from a full circumference. If a chart does not identify whether its bust, waist or hip values refer to the body or the garment, ask Ebukurty to clarify for that product before ordering.

A note allowing small differences from manual measurement is not an instruction to add that amount to your body measurements. There is no single extra-centimeter rule that works for every pajama fabric and cut.

3. Compare with pajamas you already enjoy wearing

A well-fitting set can help you describe the fit you want. For garment measurements, compare like with like: use the same measuring points, units and flat-width or circumference method as the product chart. Keep an elastic waistband in the same relaxed or stretched state specified by the chart.

Notice what works in your current set: enough room to sit, a waistband that stays comfortable, and a top length you like. These observations help you ask a specific question if a chart is unclear.

4. Check the top and bottoms separately

For a button-front style, consider bust room as well as the waist and hips of the bottoms. For pants, check the listed length and where you want the hem to fall. Shorts require attention to their length and leg opening too.

For example, the solid button-front set with pants and the button-front shorts set with pockets both list 60% polyester, 35% viscose and 5% elastane, with size options from 1XL through 6XL. Matching fabric percentages and size labels do not establish identical garment measurements.

The solid tee-and-shorts set lists 70% polyester and 30% viscose, with options from 1XL through 5XL. The heart-print set with pants lists 95% polyester and 5% elastane, with options from 1XL through 4XL. Always open the chart for the exact style; size and color availability can change. The TR95M product page now lists sizes 1XL–6XL in its garment measurement chart. If you are comparing its waistband range, ask us to confirm what each end of the range represents before ordering.

Before you add a set to your cart

Confirm the chart's measurement type, check both pieces, and review the selected color and size. If your measurements point to different sizes, ask about that specific set instead of automatically sizing up or down.

Choosing a nightdress instead?

For a one-piece nightdress, compare the bust, hips and overall length with a similar garment that fits you well. Check whether the chart gives a flat width or a full circumference before comparing numbers.
